For which purpose is the oil binding pad with granule filling used?

The oil binding pad has been developed, among others, to be put under dripping machines or to be used everywhere oil has to absorbed in the short oder long term. It can also be used very well in the water, as the pad can be taken up again after oil absorption much better than loose granules, especially in troubled waters.
