Rule 1: Secure the load comprehensively using suitable aids and pack it appropriately!
- Are all the necessary documents for transport available?
- Is the goods firmly attached to the load carrier?
- Is the wrapping film in perfect condition and correctly applied?
- Are the tapes in good condition?
Rule 4: Check the goods again before setting off!
- Was the driver involved in securing the load? If not, was the load secured again before setting off?
- Was the load secured jointly by the shipper and the driver?
- Was the departure check required by Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) carried out?
Rule 5: Always load goods in a form-fitting manner!
- Are there any gaps in the load? If so, are the gaps no larger than 3 cm per running metre and do they not exceed a total of 15 cm?
- Are the goods at the front stable enough to support the goods behind them?
- Was the load placed securely against the rear wall?
Commandment 8: Secure loose loads with suitable lashing straps!
Rule 9: Always secure and clean up accident sites adequately!
- Has the accident site been adequately secured?
- Are a warning triangle and a high-visibility vest available, and do you know how to use them?
- Have the necessary authorities been notified (fire brigade, police, environmental authorities)?
Commandment 10: Always secure loads conscientiously and abort transport in the event of potential hazards!
- Are there any potential hazards with the current load securing?
- Is the transport safe for traffic?
