The weight force FG of a body, which is expressed in newtons (N), is the force with which it is attracted by the earth and presses vertically onto its base (loading area). It is the product of mass m (kg) and gravitational acceleration g (9.81 m/s²) and is expressed in N (newtons) or daN (decanewtons).
