Requirements for high-quality load securing nets
A load
Sicherheitsanforderungen und Qualität von Ladungssicherungsnetzen: Normen, Materialien und Prüfsiegel
Load securing nets enable all types of loads to be secured quickly and reliably. High-quality load securing nets are subjected to the applicable GS tests and, if they meet all the prescribed standards, are then permitted to bear the GS mark (Geprüfte Sicherheit, or ‘Tested Safety’). This seal of approval means that small and large goods can be securely lashed down on the loading area with the load securing net. Customers can immediately see from this test seal whether the load securing net meets the high safety requirements. An additional regulation on the inspection of load securing nets stipulates that load securing nets must be designed in such a way that the load cannot move, even in extreme traffic situations. This is achieved by equipping the load securing net with additional triangular hooks and snap hooks. Lashing eyes and delta brackets offer additional fastening options and can also be used to connect two load securing nets to each other. At the same time, the material from which the load securing nets are made must be particularly durable and tear-resistant, even in extreme situations. The use of polyester materials ensures that the load securing nets are highly flexible. The safety inspection of load securing nets also covers the processed webbing, seams and loops. Even the individual seam patterns must correspond to the manufacturer's specifications in terms of the number of stitches and their dimensions. There must be no visible sharp edges, pinch points or shear points. The requirements for high-quality load securing nets are very strict, which is why these guidelines have been adapted to the applicable European standards and apply not only in Germany but throughout the European Union.
Properties of high-quality load securing nets
Load securing nets – what must they be capable of and how should they be designed in order to secure different loads optimally? Load securing nets are used wherever a specific load needs to be secured, whether against slipping, flying away or falling out. Properties of high-quality load securing nets Load securing nets are used on trailers, semi-trailers, flatbeds and other construction or gardening vehicles. They can be quickly attached and removed in just a few simple steps. These types of securing nets are usually made of PP mesh fabric, woven in various thicknesses and mesh sizes, and available in various sizes. This means that the nets can be used to meet different requirements and offer protection tailored to the load. The nets are frost-proof, hail-resistant, weather-resistant and can also be used in extreme weather conditions. High-quality load securing nets have a long service life because they are robust and tear-resistant and do not wear out when used properly. When not in use, load securing nets can be folded into relatively small bundles for space-saving storage. They are attached to the vehicle or trailer using a special strap system. If necessary, the net can also be attached elastically using expander ropes. Load securing nets are usually green, as they are primarily used in gardening and construction. If you are purchasing a load securing net for the first time, you should seek detailed advice from a specialist retailer and ask them to show you the correct tensioning and strapping techniques so that you can always secure the goods to be transported with the net in accordance with their properties. Of course, these types of nets can also be purchased from various online shops, but in favour of lower prices, you have to forego the instructions for proper use. Load securing nets and lashing nets also bear a GS mark if they are of high quality and have been tested – another sign that load securing nets can be used to transport various goods safely.
