The organic anti-slip mat: sustainable, environmentally friendly and yet inexpensive
Become a pioneer in environmentally friendly load securing and use the biological alternative to anti-slip mats made of rubber granulate: our bio anti-slip mat is made from 100% renewable raw materials and is therefore biodegradable and recyclable. It is made of coated cardboard and can be used like an anti-slip mat. Various institutes have certified it for extreme loads of up to 2,750 kilograms. And there is another decisive advantage: anti-slip cardboard is up to 30% cheaper than anti-slip rolls or anti-slip pads made from rubber granulate. The advantages of the organic anti-slip mat at a glance:
- made from renewable raw materials
- 100% recyclable and biodegradable
- Up to 30% cheaper than comparable anti-slip mats made from rubber granulate
- extremely resilient up to 2,750 kg
- Temperature resistant from -20 to +100 degrees
- Sliding friction coefficients up to 0.7
Innovative protein technology for load securing
After three years of intensive research, development and product testing, our innovative biological anti-slip mat is now on the market. The key to this innovation goes back to the development of protein technology around 10 years ago. Its developers aimed to produce products that are heavily dependent on petroleum in a more environmentally friendly way. Just as films can now be made from starch or sugar and successfully replace plastics, the scientists' goal was to produce binders and adhesives from biological and recyclable raw materials. This goal was achieved with the help of proteins, a protein building block. In the case of our organic anti-slip mat, cardboard (corrugated cardboard) serves as the carrier material, onto which an adhesive layer made of a protein-natural rubber mixture is applied on both sides. Biological substances are bound in the adhesive layer, which ensure slip resistance.
Versatile use of the organic anti-slip mat
Our organic anti-slip mats are used in the same way as high-quality anti-slip paper. They are placed between the floor of the transport carrier (e.g. the loading area of a lorry) and the pallet, between the pallet and the first layer of the transported goods, and between each layer of the transported goods. In combination with lashing materials, stowage cushions or locking bars, the mats prevent the load from slipping in the transport carrier. Tests and certifications of our organic anti-slip mats have proven that, in addition to their high load-bearing capacity, this innovative load securing aid is
- Sliding friction coefficient increased from 0.6 μ to up to 0.7 μ compared to conventional anti-slip mats. With higher coating quantities, values of up to 7.5 μ were even achieved.
- Tests in refrigerated containers also demonstrated high temperature resistance from -20 to +100 degrees Celsius.
- and the surface was resistant to various liquids such as acids, alkalis and aliphatic hydrocarbon compounds.
- This makes the organic anti-slip mat ideal for use in food transport.
- It is approved for weights of up to 2,750 kilograms.
Organic anti-slip mat: innovative load securing at low cost
Environmental protection does not necessarily have to be more expensive than using conventional materials. The use of corrugated cardboard for a wide variety of applications, such as furniture or highly stable packaging, has shown how robust and resistant this material can be when precisely and accurately shaped. In addition, it is very inexpensive due to the renewable raw materials and sophisticated production technology. This property also gave our engineers the idea of producing anti-slip coverings made of cardboard. Try it out for yourself and calculate the costs of using anti-slip mats made of rubber granulate and compare them with the investment you would need to make in our organic anti-slip mats. You will be surprised to find that you can achieve cost savings of up to 30 per cent.
Anti-slip cardboard boxes in standard and custom sizes, as well as customisable printing
Our slip-resistant and organic underlays are available in the following configurations:
- Standard sizes from 1200 to 800 x 800 to 150 millimetres
- Custom-made products according to customer requirements
- Thicknesses from 1 to 5 millimetres.
- Higher coating thicknesses available on request (increase in sliding friction coefficient up to 0.7 µ possible)
- Printable in various colours, with logo or lettering (odourless, does not stain)
Examinations and certifications
It goes without saying that our organic anti-slip mat complies with VDI standard 2700ff and European DIN EN standard 12195-1. Tests conducted by the Fraunhofer Institute, DEKRA and the Dresden Technology Centre have also proven that our organic transport mat can be used for weights of up to 2,750 kilograms. In a test to determine the sliding friction coefficient, a friction coefficient of µ = 0.7 was confirmed and achieved using a used EURO wooden pallet and a used and dry screen printing base, as well as a test weight of 860 kg. According to the certification, the cardboard layers can be used at temperatures between -20 and +100 degrees Celsius, meaning they are not sensitive to frost and are thermally stable. The surface of the anti-slip cardboard is also chemically resistant to acids, alkalis and aliphatic hydrocarbon compounds. It is also suitable for use in securing food loading units. When stored properly at room temperature and out of direct sunlight, a shelf life of 12 months can be guaranteed. The surface of the anti-slip cardboard is water-resistant, but the cut edges are not. For this reason, dry use and storage are essential.
