The DIN standard EN 12195-2 deals exclusively with lashing straps. It specifies what must always be clearly visible to the user on a strap. This includes the sewn-in label with all technical data relating to the strap (tension force, hand force, lashing force, strap length, elongation, etc.), markings on the ratchet and the connecting element, and instructions for use in the local language. However, the latter will only be included with the product when it is purchased new and will not be available for general use. DIN EN 12195-3 is different. This standard deals with lashing chains. The lashing chain consists of a round steel chain with a tensioning element, a tensioning device, the connecting element, lashing hooks at the ends and a shortening element, and is available in various sizes and lengths. Lashing chains are often used to secure heavy-duty parts using diagonal lashing.
